From producing and distributing a questionnaire I found out that 80% of people believe that the college should have a college magazine. So therefor there is a market for the product. One problem is, is that only 10% of people I asked agreed to buy the magazine. So there will be advertising space available for products that target students. Such as taxi companies, fashion shops, stationary suppliers and fast food restaurants/places to eat. About 60% of people said that they would pay something for the college magazine. So I have decided to make the first issue free as part of promotion, then the rest after that will be charged at £1.00 per issue because it’s a nice round number and it’s affordable for students. I then asked people how often the college magazine should be published and 90% of people said from fortnightly to monthly are ideal. So from that I have decided to meet them halfway, so that the magazine will published and distributed every 3 weeks. From the questionnaire the main features that will appear are, gossip page, college information, course information, and events guide and jobs section. These will appear in the college magazine because they appeal to the target audience and that is what they said they would like. People have said from the questionnaire said that what would encourage them to read it is that the front cover has to be eye catching and has to include lots of colour and pictures, preferably of students who attend the college and student life. I also asked people if they would subscribe and 80% of them said no. So I have decided if they subscribe they would save 50% of their money so this should appeal to students as they get to save a lot of money.
