The distributor for my magazine will have a very important role, because the distributor also helps with attracting target audiences and this is done through advertising, marketing and the distribution to sale outlets.

For my magazine IPC distributors would be best for distributing my magazine. IPC media is owned by Time Warner, one of the largest multinational media companies in the world.IPC media do already distribute some music magazines such as NME, but as my magazine is completely different there would room for it. Also by going with the biggest distributor my magazine can be sold in more places such as WHSmiths, supermarkets and newsagents. The problem is with going into business with such a large distributor it can effect your editorial independence because the company will make you pay as much attension to advertisers as you do to your target audience just to maximise your profits.

As my magazine will be a mainstream magazine there needs to be a lot of synergy, such as a radio station. Also my magazine will have a sister wedsite that features extra's as this would appeal to my target audience.
