The preliminary task had a more precised target audience but with my magazine i could give it more of a identity through the typogrphy, colour choices and image. With the main task i looked at excisting music magazine covers to help me develope my ideas, this also helped me to get a more professional layout/design.
The preliminary task allowed me to experiment with technologies i hadn't used before, so when it came to my music magazine construction i gauned some knowledge of how the software works, which made it a lot easier for me to produce.
By using Photoshop i could adapt the lighting,UV exposure and saturation. On my preliminary task it does not look as good as it does on my music magazine cover because with my preliminary task i had little knowledge and was experimenting around I also used Photoshop rulers. This helped me a lot with the main task as it helped me line everything up, helped me to divide the page evenly and made my main task look all straight and professional.
Also on my main task compared to my preliminary task you can see that i have learned how to space and size my text properly to get a more professional look.

double page spread

Picture on the left is my picture and picture on the right is of Lilly Allen.
Posture of Lilly Allen compared to mine is that she is more upright to show confidence. My person's posture is quite natural, so audiences can relate themselves to the picture.
Camera angle on both is eyelevel mid-shot this is good idea because it looks more welcoming and apealing to audiences.
Both backgrounds are plain, this is so the main focus is on them and emphasises the person more.
In both pictures they are representing white females. This is because they are representing the majority.
Expressions however are quite different. My picture my person is smiling and looking more natural, whereas Lilly Allen is going for a more posed/made up look. This might be because the magazine is aiming themselves at proffessionals and every last detail means a lot.
Neither picture used a stereotype because they see people for themselves not what they have been classifed as. Also the pictures fit into more conventional magazines and didnt challenge that much because otherwise it wouldnt appeal to the target audience.
